At Beechmount, we welcomed the first day of Spring and Happiness Day in the best way possible, with a lively afternoon of carnival games and plenty of shared laughter.
Residents took part in a range of simple, enjoyable games that brought out everyone’s playful side. In the photos, you can see residents concentrating as they threw bean bags into hoops on the floor and tried their hand at tossing hoops onto cones set up on a table. The activities were easy to join in with, and they created a lovely mix of gentle competition, encouragement and good humour.
What made the afternoon especially memorable was the atmosphere. There were smiles all round as residents cheered one another on, celebrated wins and enjoyed being together. Anthea summed it up perfectly, saying: “Thank you. It was the best afternoon. Can’t say thank you enough.” Alan also had a great time, enjoying an afternoon of winning in “good company.”
Activities like this support wellbeing in a very natural way. They encourage movement and coordination, help residents stay engaged, and offer a great opportunity for social connection. Most importantly, they remind us that fun and laughter are for everyone, and Beechmount had both in abundance today.
